The last weekend was about Drill movements and working different types of PT, for the most part a boring and uneventful meeting. My apologies for not having some excitement with our unit meeting. The only exciting part was listening to SSgt Brandi Soergel's SLS trip and training which was not boring.

This upcoming unit meeting will be different, we are planning to go to the Salt Mines Museum and have them give us an awesome tour. Our XO trains in the lower mine area and there is great stuff to see throughout. Go to http://undergroundmuseum.org/index.php check it out and I am calling them on Monday to set up the event. The uniform will be Full Cammi Uniform with black unit t-shirt, ribbons and polished boots, we will be representing the Young Marines and want to give it our best.

If you do not have your current ribbons call me immediately, I know that we need to update some of our Young Marines ribbons so have some patience.

The next event I am working on is to have the entire unit come to the YMCA on K96 and Woodlawn up from our new house and attend a Climb the Rock Wall Event and Swimming Event. Today I went to the YMCA and went through the classes and training, as well as the hands on training to be certified as an event Rock Climber. What this means is that when I go through my retention training the later part of this week (making sure that everything that I learned is retained after a few days) I will be able to be the anchor man to have our Young Marines climb the rock at the YMCA without any YMCA Staff required to administer or attend. I would like in the next month to have one of our Meetings to utilize this training. Exciting times.

If there are any other events y'all think of please let myself or the XO know. Thanks to everyone for keeping your interest.
