1st Kansas Battalion
The Kansas Battalion was formed after 4 of the 5 unit C.O.'s meet in Emporia for elections on April 7th. C.O. Stowers
was elected as the C.O. for the Battalion. C.O. Anderson, from Tornado Alley was elected to the X.O. position.
The vote was unanimous. The C.O. and X.O. plan on attending the other unit's meetings and working on setting up other
units around the state.

The Battalion Encampment is scheduled for August 9th-12th. It will be held at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
Each unit will be required to send at least one Young Marine to serve on the Advance Party on the 9th. Those Young Marines
will serve on the Battalion Staff for the Encampment. They will be required to set up the Battalion HQ including the
First-Aid station. They will act as runners and liason's between the units. They will assist in keeping track
of the records from their units.
